G-OCIX

Pilot: Tim Arnot

This Cessna 182 from Caranedo is one of Tim Arnot's standard mounts though he also often flies simulations of aircraft he flies in the real world, which he has worked on to make them look just like the real one.

G-CIXD

The default FS9 Cessna 172 given a makeover by Tim Arnot.

C172 C-CIXD

G-GXXB

Pilot: Peter Dodds

The ubiquitous DeHavilland Canada DCH6 Twin Otter, known affectionately as the "Twotter" is one of the world's great aircraft. This go anywhere, carry anything workhorse finds its natural home in the more extreme parts of our planet, carrying explorers, animal feed, hunters, medical supplies, skydivers and sightseers.
This particular aircraft is by Premier Aircraft Design. Here it makes a gentle touchdown at Manston in Kent. Joe Burberry also flies a Twin Otter G-JOEB.

G-CIXO

Pilot: Peter Dodds

A new and improved version of the DHC6 Twin Otter from Premier Aircraft Design which works in both FS9 and FSX, plus some experience in repainting moved Peter Dodds to create a Cix version of one of his favourite planes.  Seen here near Grenobles at 13,000 feet en route to Cannes during the Club's Christmas 2007 trip to the South of France and Italy.

G-XAJD

Pilot: Tony Driver

Tony and other members fly the RealAir Simulations Cessna 172SP. This carefully designed aircraft is much more accurate aerodynamically than Microsoft's default 172 and is consequently very popular with Flight simmers. No less than 18,000 have been downloaded. It is being used by the Aviation Engineering Department of Australia’s Kangan/ Batman TAFE, to help train students for the institute's Diploma of Aviation (Professional Pilot). RealAir have very kindly given permission for us to paint Tony's aircraft in Club colours. Click to enlarge image
G-BYMB Pilot: Tim Arnot Tim learned to fly the real G-BYMB, a Diamond DA20 Katana, at Enstone in 2004/5. The Katana is an elegant, fun little aeroplane, with real "stick and rudder" controls. It has excellent visiblity from the cockpit and is perfect for real or virtual VFR flight. The Flight simulator model is from Aerosoft.
G-GYAV Virtual

The Flight Simulator version of G-GYAV overhead Borrowdale in the Lake District, with Lake Derwentwater and beyond it Skiddaw (3054ft). Click on the pictures for larger versions.

VH-DAH

Pilot:
David Humble

David lives in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and when we fly in an evening, he joins in, but for him it's the following morning. He is a real world PPL, and flies a PA28R Piper Arrow III VH-DAH with the club.

This is the new and improved VH-DAH - a paint job is in progress to put it in CIX club colours. Unlike the FS default Cessna 172, this aircraft can have its CIX logo the right way round on both sides of the fin!

Pictured here on departure from Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport.

G-BAJD

Pilot: Tony Driver

Tony Driver most commoinly flies the Dreamfleet Beech Baron B58. The Baron is a luxury twin with a good load carrying capacity and is fast enough for serious international touring. The Dreamfleet Baron panel is optionaly available with photo-realistic, ultra-smooth motion Reality XP gauges.

G-CPCA

Pilot: Pete Allnutt

When Pete fancies something different, he brings out this wonderful Chipmunk by Rick Piper, seen here in it's most natural element - aerobatics. There's a bit of a queue forming behind Pete!

The Club paint scheme was done by John Woodside

G-SAJD

Pilot: Tony Driver

Not to be outdone - every now and then Tony Driver will roll out the magnificent Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIV from RealAir Simulations. This aircraft has received rave reviews, including one from a real world Spitfire pilot. A respectful hush now descends over the Member's Bar, when Tony comes in.
DH82A_2-4-Cix

This package of all six of the Tiger contingent of the 2-4-Cix Display team has been designed so that they will display correctly in formation in VATSIM when FSInn is used for the connection (change the aircraft you see for each pilot by using the "PLA" setting in the FSInn Control Panel). Unzip the file (9.0Mb), and put the folder unaltered into your FS9 Aircraft folder.  These aircraft are Warwick Carter's "Aussie Tiger" model, modified by him at the request of the club to enable us to use our custom panel.  The display livery and panels are by Peter Dodds.

Click on the link on the left to download the file.

Also flyable in FSX.

DH82A RAF

Two Tiger Moths supplied to the RAF in the first half of the Twenteth Century modelled for the Club Warbirds Group.

Unzip the file (9.5Mb), and put the resulting folder unaltered into your FS9 Aircraft folder. When you open your aircraft list in FS9, under the de havilland badge you will find these two after the 2-4-Cix Tigers (if you have them installed).

In FSX put the folder in the Simobjects/Airplanes folder.  Then make sure you have the "All variations" box ticked in the Select Aircraft display and you'll find these two shown individually.

Aircraft designed for the Club by Warwick Carter, RAF liveries and panels by Peter Dodds.

K4242 is in 1937 training livery

R5130 is in 1942 wartime camoflage training livery

G-PETE

Pilot: Pete Chapman

G-ANOD

Pilot: Peter Dodds

In the livery of a 1954 RAF trainer, this DeHavilland DH82a Tiger Moth G-ANOD is put through its paces. Peter Dodds and Pete Chapman are afficionados of this type. Pete C currently flies the Bill Lyons model, whereas Peter D flies a model fundamentally by John Woodside, with elements of Bill Lyons' version, but with his own panel. Both models are freeware.

Pilots: John Bowditch & Peter Dodds

Whoa! Don't run down the marshaller. John Bowditch and Peter D occasionally both fly this wonderful aircraft from Plane Designs. (Do we need to say what type it is?)

Using FSNet they have also flown a sortie together as pilot and navigator respectively - a great adventure!

What's this?

Some members have been flying microlights (ultralights) on Club nights lately and reporting that they are having a lot of fun with them. Look out for an Event announcement in due course.

This is the Cosmo Strike flexwing from the Lago Ultralight collection. These are payware, but freeware microlights can be found on the web.

G-PYGF

Pilot: Peter Dodds

Member Kevin Bryan - he of the amazing flying machines (Unreal Aviation) created this freeware twin rotor autogyro for FS2002. Peter D has built a brand new panel, with mostly unique gauges, and has been trying to get it to fly properly in FS2004, which isn't a simple task. The delightful Fr-Lorr Cloud Pirate paint scheme is by Jean-Louis Coussot.

When the project is complete, it will be available for download from the Club.
