Premiercraft Twin Otter for FSX and FS9 The DHC-6 Twin Otter is a 20-passenger STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada. It has often been called the most successful aircraft programme in Canada's history. The aircraft's fixed tricycle undercarriage, STOL abilities and relatively high rate of climb have made it a successful cargo, regional passenger airliner and MEDEVAC aircraft. | The Piper PA38 Tomahawk is an aircraft
designed specifically for pilot training. It is an aircraft you either
like or dislike. Plus points are good visibility, and it is easy to
land well. Negative points are tricky slow flight handling and spin
recovery plus a constant tinny drumming whilst in flight in some
models.
Pete Chapman flies a PA38 - G-Hawk, so he clearly is one who likes it. (So does your webmaster who has flown one on a few occasions real-world). The model illustrated is from the Just Flight Flying Club series, which is a payware add-on for Flight Simulator 2004. | The Piper PA34 Seneca - a medium range
light twin much used in commercial light aviation - air taxis, air
ambulances etc. Ruth McTighe flies one of these with the Club as
G-FLYI, London's Capital Radio traffic spotting aircraft.

| If you didn't learn
to fly real world in a Tomahawk, we bet you learned in a Cessna
150/152! These are fun little aircraft which won't take you in comfort
to the south of France, but are great for Club evenings around
Gloucester or Biggin Hill. Tim's paint scheme is bright enough to wake
up the sleepiest little airfield.

thing, maybe the Cessna 150L Commuter might be more to your taste. Like
the Aerobat, it was built in the Reims factory in France, so is
considered a little bit special. This is the deluxe Cessna, designed
for cross-country flying.

With a production run up to 1986 of over 34,000, there are more of them
in existence than any other light aircraft and statistically they have
the best safety record. Tim has created a smart paint job for the
FS2004 default C172. It can also be used on the RealAir Simulations Cessna 172SP

| The Cessna 172's bigger brother the
182 features a constant speed propeller and a 130 knots crusing speed.
If you are coming into Gloucester or Biggin Hill from some distance on
Club nights, this could be a good choice of aircraft. This is exactly
what Tim has done, which is probably why it was his first repaint for
the Club.
This is one of several superb aircraft from the Caranedo stable and one of Tim's regular aircraft (G-OCIX).

| The next size up Sir? Try the 6-seat
Cessna 206 Stationair, its 310hp turbocharged engine giving you 140
knots cruising speed at any altitude with a 700 miles range. That's
about Nice to Gloucester, if you fancy it one Club night, although
going the other way would be better for your social life!

| The luxurious Beech
Baron 58 - a serious option for that south of France trip, capable of
cruising at twice the speed of the humble Cessna 152. Several club
members fly the Baron.

Arnot has written a short tutorial on how to change
the registration letters on your favourite aircraft, where Flight
Simulator does not do it automatically from within the menu structure.
It involves a bit of work with a graphics package and an extended
bitmap converter, but is very rewarding when finished. Here is G-ANOD,
the Tiger Moth by John Woodside, with a new registration added by Peter
Dodds.
