An ex RAF man from the 70's, he has been involved in aviation throughout his life. Gray joined the club in April 2006, and became Manager of the 2-4-CIX Display Team in February 2007. Due to RW commitments he took a break from the Club October 2008. He accepted an invitation to rejoin in June 2009 and become part of the training arm of the Club as Training Manager & Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI). He was already carrying out this valuable role at Shoreham, but it will now be within the umbrella of Club Training activities. Gray has agreed also to take up the reins of 2-4-Cix Display Team. In this role he will be seeking to build up the display team once again. |

| Tim Arnot | Events Manager |
A software Engineer by day, Tim is a real world PPL with about 130 hours. He discovered the joys and frustrations of flight sim in 2003, with FS9. It´s rumoured that he only started flying for real because he couldn´t land the plane in FS and wanted some "proper instruction"! Tim, also a founder mermber, is known throughout the club for his excellent screenshots, and he has won several awards on the SimFlight monthly screenshot competition. Tim particularly enjoys taking small planes on long virtual tours across the globe, covering many thousands of miles. And yes, he can now land one, really. Until September 2008 Tim was our Photo Gallery editor, where he did sterling work sorting, editing, and presenting images provided by club members for inclusion on the web site. |

| Pete Allnutt | Forum Manager |
Pete is a founder member of the club who has been flight simming since the mid 1980s starting with "Aviator" the flight sim programme for the BBC Micro with its wire frame graphics. He didn´t take it too seriously until the formation of the CIX VFR club and his discovery of VATSIM. He is also a virtual (car) racing driver as well as flight simmer. As well as his "official" duties above, Pete also manages the Club´s TeamSpeak server and designed the club´s PIREP flight reporting system. He is quite happy to be called Pete! |

A founder member of the club who discovered flight simming via ATC sims, Ruth joined VATSIM shortly after it opened in 2001, and has served on both the UK staff and the international Board of Governors. Ruth is one of the few women in VATSIM, and so far the only one in this club. She never got further than a trial lesson in a real aircraft due to airsickness, but does hold a Certificate in Aviation Medicine. She joined the management team in May 2009, providing her experience of VATSIM organisation for the club´s benefit. Following her Open University successes she was offered and accepted the role of Assistant Webmistress. |

| Matt Scott | Qualified Flying Instructor, & Visual Media Designer |
From an early age Matt was inspired by his father, an ATPL holder, flight instructor and MCC instructor. Matt is now a Real World PPL/Night/complex type rated with 250hrs plus under his belt, and has embarked upon his own ATPL. Matt joined CIX VFR Club in April 2008. His interests lean towards complex G/A operations including Procedural approaches, both Precision and non Precision, at non radar facilities, and complex singles and mult-engine types. His appointment as QFI will therefore fit in well for those wishing to advance their skills. The experience Matt has gained as a Graphics Design Manager, video editing and managing corporate presentation, makes him an ideal person to develop our website Picture Galleries using the latest media tools, and so he has taken over this job from Peter Dodds, with the new job title of Visual Media Designer. Oh! He also enjoys the occasional pint if stranded at Guernsey. |

| James Mindham | 2-4-CIX Team Leader |
James has had a keen interest in aviation since childhood. There is something about planes that he just cannot put his finger on! His bedroom had the obligatory aircraft wallpaper supplemented with wonderful cross-sectional posters of iconic aircraft. A great family friend was a former Squadron Leader during the War, and his enthusiasm rubbed off. James is grateful to have the friend's Wartime Bristol Beaufighter ashtray on his desk today. The Air Training Corps followed with memorable flights from RAF Swanton Morley and Cambridge. His first Flight Simulator experience was on the ZX Spectrum where you could fly for hours just to see a few pixels representing a lake! Since those days his interest had waned, but was rekindled with FS2004, and he quickly realised that he could channel his background in 3D modelling and Graphic Design to create FS scenery and aircraft models. |

| Basil Hancock | 2-4-CIX Deputy Team Leader |
Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Basil was called up to National Service after schooling at Kearney College. He volunteered for the Parachute Battalion, and qualified in May 1973 as a "Parabat" (short for Parachute Battalion). His first few jumps were from a DC3, hence his passion for flying it in FS. He did a few tours of duty in South West Africa during the bush war, before moving into a career in accounting (QBE). He migrated to Blighty in 1999 and has now settled into being an Excel specialist for a Finance House. His introduction to flightsimming was on FS1 using IBM clone computors. He discovered Warbirds Online and was hooked, flying lengthy B17 missions. Basil joined Vatsim in 2002 but wasn't active until finding the CIX VFR Club, and then his virtual civil aviation took off. He joined Gray Brett in the 2-4-CIX team and loved it. Basil's real world flying is limited to 30 Launches in a K13 Glider out of Shennington. |
