| What is 2-4-CIX? |
2-4-CIX offers club members the chance to be part of a display team or to create a solo routine. 2-4-CIX will hold a display for the Club birthday celebrations each year, and at least one other public display annually. Our operating base will be Kidlington(EGTK). 2-4-CIX will cater for varying commitment and members will be allocated a role according to how much time they can give, and the aircraft type they are willing to fly. In order for 2-4-CIX to be flexible, members will be asked to gain a Type Rating and a basic Display Authorisation on at least two different aircraft types if possible.

| What to expect |
|
Any CIX VFR Club member can join 2-4-CIX, previous experience of display flying is not a prerequisite and the underlying principle is enjoyment. Feeling that you are not good enough to join is completely misplaced – the fact that you fly is the only entry requirement you need! However, CIX VFR Club has a deserved high reputation for GA flying and this is something that 2-4-CIX must emulate in its 2-4-CIX operations. To this end, there is an element of discipline and there have to be procedures that reflect the real world. A very simple Type Rating is required along with straightforward Display Authorisations, these will enable us to plan displays accordingly and make things more realistic. If you have limited availability then you may wish to consider performing a solo display, if you can give a little bit more time then why not join the Chipmunk or Tiger Moth formation groups. We hope to re-introduce the Tiger Moths and Rapide for pilots who are unable to practice as much as the Chipmunk drivers. Formation flying is a mixed bag. From experience, any 2-4-CIX member has come to realise that the vast differences in aircraft position lag has a depressing outcome. You may think that you are perfectly formed up with an aircraft, but in reality that aircraft can be anything up to a mile in front and what the spectator sees can be anything in between. This is just a fact of 2-4-CIX life and will affect some more than others. If you are part of a formation group, then that group will have an appointed Flight Group Leader. The Flight Group Leader will be responsible for organising practice times, will chair discussions about display routines for his group and be responsible for implementing 2-4-CIX procedures for display work. This will ensure that things keep moving and a guide to a Flight Group Leader's responsibilities can be found here. The role of Display Director is open to anyone. If you would like to organise a display at any airfield, then you are free to do so, a Display Director briefing document is available here.

| A British Classic? |
With the re launch of 2-4-CIX, we think it would be nice to add a classic feel to our operations and would encourage members to consider gaining a type rating on some classic British aircraft. See this website for some inspiration! Please let me know if you can offer something from the classic stable. |
| Type Rating |
Gaining a Type Rating is a simple affair. All we ask for is a minimum of 120 clock minutes on type and the submission of the following FSRecorder files or online appraisals:
|
| Display Authorisations |
DA1 |
| Pilot Type Ratings |
A table will appear here with type ratings / clock minutes and DA's created dynamically from PIREPS Pilots please note that your Type Rating and Display Authorisation will lapse if you have not flown a type for more than 2 months. A Type Rating can be kept up to date by any filed PIREP on type, even a simple circuit counts.
