Situated north of the beautiful Cumbria Lake District, Carlisle

to the South, and on a clear day Bassenthwaite Lake to the North. To find out more click

Many visitors to the airport pay a visit to Solway aviation museum a quick 2 minute walk from the airport it is home to the Avro Vulcan, Jet Provosts, Lighting, and many other more; the museum is open from Easter on till October and is entirely run by volunteers. Kirkbride is a small military airfield to the East of the field and is host to the annual fly in and in the 2007 fly in played host to Spitfires, DC3’s, Jet provosts, Yak 52’s and intricate civilian registered aircraft. |
