Monday

Liverpool

Liverpool runway 27
Liverpool is situated on the north bank of the river Mersey. Cix VFR Club is pleased to have adopted its virtual cousin for our Monday evening activities.

Tuesday

Gloucestershire

The CIX hangar Opened in 1931 as Staverton Aerodrome, Gloucestershire Airport has been progressively developed during the last 75 years into one of the busiest airfields in the UK.  Just four miles from Cheltenham, home of prestigious horse-racing, literature and music festivals and only six miles from the cathedral city of Gloucester.  With VATSIM ATC on line every Tuesday evening for at least the past 4 years, it is also one of the busiest virtual airfields in the VATSIM system. The Club established its base at Gloucestershire in December 2004.

Wednesday

Shoreham

Shoreham tower complex Shoreham is an important and busy base for flying activities around the South Coast, the City of Brighton & Hove and the town of Worthing.  Going one better than Barton, Shoreham is the oldest licensed airfield in the UK, and has a beautiful Grade II listed art deco building - not a Control Tower but a full scale Terminal. The Club will make good use of its virtual equivalent (virtually listed of course!)

Thursday

Carlisle

Carlisle tower Carlisle Airport is in a prime location ideally placed for local business travel and tourism to the Lake District, Cumbria and Southern Scotland.  The Club has set up here to encourage members to fly in the beautiful north of England and Scottish Borders region.  VFR scenery and a good terrain mesh make virtual flights in this region quite magical.

Friday

Biggin Hill

Cix buildings at EGKB "Biggin on the Bump" was an airfield which played a pivotal role in the 1940 Battle of Britain and still today has that feel of "something historic happened here". It's long main runway can accommodate even the largest of the Club's aircraft and it features regular VATSIM ATC. The Club has built a full scale base here with an operational centre, clubhouse and hangar, and has operated from Biggin Hill since its formation in February 2004.
