Welcome back to London Biggin Hill Airport . Passing Dartford Bridge, as we do so often, en route to Biggin Hill. All secure back at Stapleford early, so everyone flew on to our base at Biggin Hill. G-XAJD on short final to runway 22 at Stapleford.
No. 30 St. Mary Axe, City of London, variously described as a lighthouse of 21st century architecture, and the "gherkin." St. Pauls, Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast. G-XAJD Passes the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye returning to Stapleford. The Southern Railway out of Charing Cross (left) crosses over Hungerford Bridge via Waterloo Station (right) to Brighton.
Battersea Power Station (aka Tate Modern) and Old Father Thames Richmond Park - next door to the Wombles Heathrow Airport on the port wing approaching Junction 1 of the M3. Anyone for the races? Royal Ascot makes another easily spotted visual reference.
RAF Northolt, sandwiched between the A40 dual carriageway and Northolt railway junction on the Chiltern Main Line. Two Wembley Stadia? The Visual Flight Scenery provides the photographic version, Microsoft default scenery provides the other! The Valley of the River Lea and some of Thames Water's Reservoirs made an excellent first waypoint for those of us who didn't know the area. Members gather at Stapleford ready for the off. First away, G-PETE is already passing through the overhead.
