Various Minor Outings and Other Activities - 2005
Welcome to the CIX VFR Club Picture Miscellaneous Gallery 2005
Hopefully, in these galleries, Flight Simulator enthusiasts will see that flying light aircraft is a lot of fun.
To navigate through the various galleries, either click on the appropriate menu button and dropdown buttons above, or the link in the lefthand column below.
A Trip From Leeds to Liverpool 29/03/2005 One of our earliest trips between two regional airports with ATC at both.
Hawarden
05/04/05
In 2005, Hawarden had a very active Airport Manager on VATSIM with his own web site and "Flying Club".  We visited with the new VATSIM Client Software Squawkbox 3 which shows a giant paper dart if it cannot work out what the real aircraft type should be.  It spoils the screenshots though, so some members try to avoid flying unusual aircraft types where possible. Other just use the other new Pilot Client software,FSInn, instead!
Gloucestershire
19/04/05
As more and more light aircraft become available for Flight Simulator, our members like to try them out.  Some get hooked on certain types, and the much loved Tiger Moth is one such favourite.
Two Antanovs 20/04/2005 Designers from Russia have also been busy creating Flight Simulator models.  One of our members had occasion to fly two of these offerings, the Antonov AN2 - the 12 seat "world largest biplane" and the more conventional AN26 turboprop.  The flight deck of these aircraft required lessons in Russian before flight!
Father and Son 17/07/05 One member and his six-year old son had a bit of fun in multiplayer mode.
Gloucestershire Night 18/10/05 Before Gloucestershire became an official Club base, members flew there regularly because there was always someone on Gloucester Tower or Approach (and sometimes both).
Stansted Controller's Exam night 04/11/05 When VATSIM announce an exam for a student controller, they always ask for a mix of traffic to make the student controller's life "interesting".  Sometimes we are able to oblige. A group of us flew up from Biggin Hill.
